Something that we always encourage at Billy Tannery is to be unique. Back in 2016 we built the UK's first small-batch tannery in over 50 years and have continued to strive to set ourselves apart.

All of our products are made from our own leather. This leather is tanned entirely in Britain from a previously wasted food by-product, using bark extracts and our innovative microtannery process that recycles 90% of the water and turns waste into compost.

The characteristics visible on each skin we tan is something we truly value and this is a distinctive part of our business. Our new products truly reflect this story.

Gifting

When looking for Christmas gift inspiration, we always struggle to find gifts that are individual and tell their own story. The new additions to our Accessories collection, Moss Deer and Natural Goat, mean you need to look no further.

Moss Deer

A season-less and unisex allrounder, you can't go wrong with Moss.

This natural earthy green, inspired by the wilds of the UK, is not a colour that you see often. The matte finish of the Deer leather will age beautifully, becoming even richer over time.

Each Moss product tells its own story. We have embraced the individual scars and marks that featured on each skin, by making these a feature on each item. Now it's time for you to develop the leathers character even further.

Available in The Cardholder, The Bifold, The Key Wrap and The Journal.

Natural Goat

Natural Goat is back and better than ever. Eagle-eyed followers may have noticed this colourway had taken a step back from the lime light for a year or two. But, after many requests, an exclusive batch of Natural leather was tanned for this new range.

Originally Natural Goat only featured in The Cardholder, The KeywrapThe Bifold and The Pouch collections. Now this is joined by one of our bestselling accessories - The Journal.

"Patina is the value that age puts on an object" - John Yemma

The beauty of the Natural Goat is how the colour will develop over time. This is know as developing a patina and means that your product with become completely individual to you.

Patina is not exclusive to leather and can be seen on many natural materials such as wood, denim, metal and stone. It is a term used to describe the natural change of colour and texture through exposure and use. Think of the Statue of Liberty for example!

Whilst all of our products will develop a patina over time, it is most notable on the un-dyed Natural Goat products as the patina isn't competing with the dye colour.

We took this opportunity to reach out to past customers of Natural Goat to check in to see how their patina was developing. We were thrilled to see the changes!

Natural Goat is a great item to gift as you can check in to see how it's changed and developed each year.
