We’re thrilled to announce that Billy Tannery has received national recognition for our commitment to sustainable leather goods. Our founder, Jack Millington, has been awarded the Environmental Sustainability Award by Heritage Crafts and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), highlighting the impact of our unique British leather business.

From the beginning, we set out to challenge the norm and create exceptional leather from goat and deer skins that would otherwise go to waste. Tanned in small batches using natural tree bark extracts, our leather is transformed into everything from hospitality goods to our growing collection of bags and accessories. All made right here in Britain, with sustainability and provenance at the heart.

This award is a huge honour and a reflection of the entire ecosystem that makes Billy Tannery possible. From our farming and rewilding partners to local leather finishers, craftspeople and our customers who like us believe that better leather is not only possible but essential.

The award was specifically in relation to continuous improvement in our environmental sustainability practices, so true to form the prize money has been spent on a new piece of equipment for our water treatment plant.
