A Bespoke Briefcase for Sir Cecil Beaton

We were delighted to be invited to join a host of Britain's finest craftspeople and luggage brands for a very special exhibition at The Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair. Open throughout London Craft Week 2018, the exhibition showcases the art of travelling in style and inspired by characters from the illustrious (if fictional) past of the hotel and it's 'founder' Jimmy Beaumont.

We chose Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton, the photographer, diarist, painter, interior designer and Oscar-winning costume designer. Spending his time dashing between high-profile portraiture commissions and raucous parties, Cecil needed to carry items for work and also pleasure.

Our bespoke briefcase, created in collaboration with fine leather craftsman Charles Laurie, is therefore practical and also celebrates Cecil’s eccentric style.  Handcrafted in London from our entirely British kid leather in a rich navy with matching kid suede lining, plus terracotta details for a touch of the unexpected. Look out for Cecil’s monogrammed cigarette case inside.

We will be exhibiting alongside Alfie Douglas, Caroline Groves, Ettinger, Geraldine Larkin, Gladstone London, Purdey and Trunk Clothiers.
